Hello There! Growing up in Hampton, Virginia I was able to be close to family who raised me in an open-minded atmosphere. My mother, a self-taught artist, was always creating and greatly influenced and encouraged my artistic endeavors.
At Virginia Commonwealth University, I was admitted into the Art Education program, where I was exposed to teaching cross-curricularart projects using 'Big Ideas' and creative means of using art materials.
What blossomed was two passions merging together- teaching and art.
I am blessed to have a career that allows me to teach young people to express and challenge themselves. I am excited to see the the future has in store for my career in art education.
In the art room I strive to show students the wide world of art and creating. I do my best to give students opportunities to work with new materials.
Learning in art happens when our hands get messy and our hearts reach out.
